I have found a door on eBay or a replacement glass. Either is around 20 pounds but which would be the easier repair for a cack handed amateur like me? Looney Posted January 24, 2012 Share Posted January 24, 2012 Little so-and-so! I agree about looking online for advice. We have done this prior to getting a wiper mechanism changed and also when the car window slipped into the door when we were winding it down! To change window glass I guess you will have to remove the inner door card/panel and once you've done that hopefully it would be reasonably straightforward to replace the pane although perhaps a bit fiddly.....however don't take my word for it! keyhole kate Posted January 24, 2012 Share Posted January 24, 2012 OH who originally trained mech said glass replacement is 1st and best option as door might not fit glass is standard size and there is no difference for winding or elec mechanisim. If minimal difference in price OH suggests buying the door with the glass in as taking it out of the door will show you how to put in. He said you will find how to do such jobs online as suggested.
