emmastar Posted February 5, 2012 Share Posted February 5, 2012 Hello all after i got my new octogan 20 i started a hatch and im thinking with the cold and postage got quite bad rate . After a powercut yesterday i was sure they would all be gonners , I candled with a led tourch and it looked only 3 had movement so they went under the broody Before the bator went off i thought i would do a quick look again and used my blackbury as the light was bright and i still have another 8 eggs Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Lewis Posted February 6, 2012 Share Posted February 6, 2012 I was going to get a new LED candler the other day but thought I'd save myself £20, mainly because I always use my phone torch too! With broodies its easier to go up at night and candle with my phone and pop the eggs straight back under her. My Diamond Doves often sit on eggs and they're so tiny (smaller than 5p coin) that the only thing I can candle them with is my phone!
