New hens not going into Eglu Go Up

Hi

 

I have got my self an incubator and just trying to set it up and get to know it a little bit before getting some eggs. The question I have is how often should i set it to turn eggs it offers to turn it every 15, 30, 45, 60, 75, 90, 105, 120, 135, 150, 165 and 180 minutes. Can you turn the eggs to much?

What bator is it you have ? maby someone will have the same one , also what eggs are going into it ?

The Incy is a Brinsea mini advanced and i was planning on putting some Cream legbar eggs in. The incubator has an angle option dependant on the egg size and the time between turning the eggs.

well 5 out of seven have hatched. Not sure on males females as first time doing this will post a picture see if you can help at all. . sorry a bit blurry.

5/7 thats a good hatch rate as for sexing

Thanks for that got to be hounest still not sure this is a better picture. There is one a lot lighter which i am sure is a cockeral but still not sure about the others being female. If they are are all cockerals .

I'd get the breeder to double check but I'd say that the yellow one may not be pure Cream Legbar, if it is then its probably a male

 

Of the others the top and bottom ones are male I think, the yellow dot on the head is only found in the males

 

I cant see the head of the one on the right but its quite light so I'd also say male -check for the yellow dot

 

The one on the left looks darker so is probably female but again check for the dot

 

They should really be a bit clearer than that, the first link that someone posted above shows how clear the difference should be

Think your right Redwing don't think they really look like pure bred legbars. Frustrating when they said they were . But you learn off your mistakes I suppose. I think all but one are males. The boys will be going to a new home when a little older as a friend said he would take the cockerals, don't think he was expecting 4 though he maybe a little shocked .
