sage Posted February 18, 2012 Share Posted February 18, 2012 Got renewal for house building/contents last week £445, did online serarch today and got a best quote of £339 (from the same company). Rang up to start new policy and they ask what the online quote was, lady said oh we can do better than that how dose £319 sound. When I called current insurer (Budget) and told them I was not renewing they asked why....doh! I told them about the saving and they immediatly offered me another price tho still two something pounds more than the new quote. Would have been less hassle to just accept it but I felt that it was just not on to immediatly come down so much just because I said I was leaving them....serve them right ! Its really taught me to ALWAYS question this sort of thing....and I get a free Meercat (going for about a tenner on E bay so thats even more of a saving......! ) Its always worth checking and boy, does it feel good when you save money!
