kittyl
My warren has a swollen belly, is walking uncomfortably in a very bandy way, her crop is empty though I've seen her eating. She is about 3 years old but I'm not certain of that, she hasnt layed for a year now. I'm not sure how long she's been like this, I've been away 2 weeks til today & a friend has been looking after them. Is there anything I can do for her? I will try & get her to a vet tomorrow. Could this be peritonitis even if she's not laying? If it was "water belly" I presume her belly would be squishy not tight?
Egluntyne
It sounds very much like peritonitis I'm afraid. I'd take her to the vet, or if that isn't an option, I'd humanely cull her.
kittyl
I thought Peritonitis was caused by egg yolk? This little henny stopped laying a year ago. I shall take her to the vet tomorrow am, I realise she may not come home
Egluntyne
That is one cause. There are others. Best of luck at the vet.
