Purplemaniacs
We are planning on adding some bantams to our family of chooks and we have decided that we would like to raise some chicks. We have been reading about the subject and have decided that starting with eggs is one step too far to begin with so we would like some young chicks to raise. We intend to use an indoor rabbit cage as a brooder with an electric hen. We would like to end up with 4 or 5 bantams, clearly some will turn out to be boys. Would 10 chicks be a good number if half were boys that would leave us with the number that we would like? To those experienced omleteers do these plans make sense? Thanks Chrissie
sjp
your set up idea is good but even with 10 chicks you might end up with just one pullett
