hotchick
Hi my fellow eggheads I am trying to identify two of my brood - the ginger and white ones pictured here (both cockerels): Can anyone help? The ginger one I was told is a standard battery breed and the white one is a wee pygmy type. Hope I've done this right HC Edited March 21, 2012 by Guest

Easier uploading to a photo sharing website eg flickr as it is free.

jennym
I can see the twitter one now. I'm no expert, but the ginger one in front looks like a rhode island red - I think these are crossed with a light sussex to give the warren/gingernut ranger commercial hen hybrid. Picture here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhode_Island_Red Not sure about the other one, sorry,
sjp
the red one isn't a rhode island red the colours wrong and it has white legs it looks like a cross breed it could be a hybrid cross but more likly a bitza
Redwing
They are possibly cross breeds The ginger one looks like a hybrid cross The other one looks like it has some Japanese or Dutch blood in it possibly
