Lewis
Had a great 3 days at the Edible Garden show at Stoneleigh last weekend! Know there were some Omleteers there over the weekend, chatted to quite a few people + was nice to see everyone. Everyone have a good show? I took 6 of my girls with me for the stand I was on, and a basket of eggs for people to see the variation between breeds + eggs. Doris one of my pekins was sat on the stand for all 3 days, happily being stroked and picked up ... was impressed at how chilled she was! Chickens were really popular, there were quite a few poultry stands and BHWT were there with some Ex Batts and getting loads of interest. I did a Beginners talk in the Poultry Ring and handed out 800 beginners caresheets I wrote, as well as hundreds of other ones too ... hopefully encourage a few more people to get chickens! I was dressed as a Chicken for most of the show (why not?!) and went to see The Chicken Vet for a check-up... ...I had a bad case of Northern Fowl Mite but they cleared that up for me We were in the Smallholders marquee with sheep, goats, poultry and pigs. Some of the piglets... and a cute goat kid! I milked a goat too Thanks to Rupert Stevenson for these photos.
