Hello

 

Being a bit of a wuss here but my OEG bantam has a huge mud ball on her toe. I just can't get her to stay still so I can pick it off. She flaps and squeaks and I just give in and let her go. Im sure not sure how to get rid of it - any ideas? I have tried soaking her feet in a bowl of warm water but she won't stay still very long. I wish she would realise I'm trying to help!

What about some oil to soften it then have another go Perhaps sneak up on her now while she's asleep

What oil do you think-olive? If I rub it in the ball do you think it will break it up?

I have this problem with a couple of my bantams... I stand them in a sink of warm water and pick it off / loosen it with tweezers. Does take a while to get off though!

Squeezing it with a pair of pliers will help loosen it from the toe but it does have to be soaked first really, try bringing her in after dark in to a dark-ish room to keep her as calm as possible
