Eggasperated
Got 3 new hybrid girls on Monday from George Ogilvie in East Lothian. Two Pied Suffolk (with big hooked beaks almost like crows ) and a very pretty Barred Rock. I did want a Columbine but they were only 9 weeks old so I decided to get the POL at 18 weeks. They are currently settling into the Eglu fenced off from the other girls in the Solway. They have struggled a bit getting used to eating from the grubs, I have seen two of them eating from them now but the smaller of the pied suffolks still seems to be finding the new environment a bit overwhelming. Hopefully she will get the hang of it soon. I think I have heard a few sneezes so I've added some lifeguard to the water. It's nearly two years since I last got new girls and I'm struggling to remember how they were when I first got them.
JanTheDiver
I got three new girls last August after having my other three for two years. It does seem odd watching them learn how to do things, they soon pick it up from the old girls though. Enjoy your new ladies Jan

WarrensWorld
We bought two Bluebells, and two Blackrocks. They were to replace three ISA Browns that all died from congestive heart disease, but Fern the last ISA is still going strong. She laid an egg this morning, and it looks like she's a tad broody just now. Problem is she's become a bit of a bully to the new birds! Now we're thinking of getting a pair of Fenton Blues, we rather like the idea of Blue and Green eggs. Anyone have Fentons at all, and what's their temperament like?
