Foxwatch questions

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

To those of you who have read my previous posts about foxes (both 'for' and 'worried' posts), please let me assure you I'm not at all obsessed by them... or at least I claim I'm not... but here is another question...

To all those of you who have Foxwatch, should it only be used by people who don't have cats? I read that it will deter foxes and dogs, but what will it do to cats? I am interested in getting one, but don't want to create trouble for my cats, or spend that kind of money to find out I shouldn't use it. Also, how far away from your chooks do you have to position it so the chooks' movements not set it off? or doesn't it matter if they do?

Thanks in advance to anyone with any advice....

You can run it from batteries or the mains if the chickens set it off it will make a fairly quiet clicking noise. It will use power. I've not read about your fox problem but turn ours on at night when foxes are a problem and chickens in bed.

You set it up as in the picture (http://www.conceptresearch.co.uk) so anything (chickens) producing heat or moving in the range will set it off. To protect the area while the chickens are moving about they will set it off.
