Laura & CTB
Fabulous - well done you
Sheilaz
That's great, I'm sure someone will appreciate that, as well as benefitting the charity. I had to buy some this year as my one plant is still spindly, I've only cropped 3 thin stalks so far. Hopefully all the chickenpoo will strengthen the plant for next year, but I do have to keep the slugs off too. Well done!
starboyhull
Mine grows crazy, I gave two carrier bags full away last week, and I have almost that amount again, one good day of sun and it grows like mad.
Olly
I discovered Freecycle before I joined Omlet ... it's great, but there are the occasional oddbods who spoil it for others (by not turning up to collect things, taking stuff and then selling it, or being generally rude and unpleasant like the problem Niall had). I freecycled loads of stuff when I moved house though - it's brilliant for getting rid of the things that charity shops won't take like electrical goods ... and, er, rhubarb! love it. Lesley
The Stratford Freecycle is not easy to use - both Martin and I have given up without ever having been able to use it I think I might look at the Banbury one as Clare says it is very good. Well done on the rhubarb
starboyhull
I must admit it does seem a little over complicated, not sure how the others are run but the Hull one uses yahoo groups....The sign up process could have been made much more simple and for little or no cash investment the whole thing could be made easier........ Its a very good idea though, seems to be a lot of messages of people losing things after the flooding in our area and a lot of people offering items.....Sure there is some good people around. Dippy Egg
I joined one of the Northampton freecycle groups recently after reading about it on here. I have responded to two requests and both people I dealt with were polite and appreciative. I haven`t posted any 'wanted' requests yet but I definately will in time. My group was very quick and easy to join. So far so good!
