do bantams lay as many eggs as normal hens? and if so are they as big? i cant decide between normal hens or bantams

I have a mini but her eggs would be the same size as quite a lot of bantams. She did lay as often but her eggs are small 28g ish mark. Her yolks were normally bigger though

No pure breed will lay as well as a hybrid, but provided the bantam is from a good egg laying strain (as opposed to show quality), she should lay well. I have some that lay two or three eggs per week for seven or eight months of the year and others that lay very nearly every day with a short winter break. It depends very much on the individual bantam (or hen).

My friend has bantams and they lay just as many eggs but they are slightly smaller eggs. They are soo cute though and they are really friendly. And they dont poo half as much!!!! lol
