What makes a chicken coop easy to live with?

Hi everyone,

I just picked up some fertilized bantam Wyandotte eggs from a breeder, and she said that I should put them it a tilted position and let them set for 24 hours, before putting them under my broody. I never heard about this before, is it true? And if so, should I keep them in room temperature?

Also, they are a little bit dirty, should I clean them?

yes they should be tilted it's to allow the eggs to settle at room temp they should be tilted back the oppersite way about 3 times in 24hrs

Thanks sjp! They aren't very dirty, just a few spots.

It’s down to personal preference really but if they are going under a broody I wouldn’t clean them

I was told to leave them pointed end down to settle for 24 hrs at room temp and this worked for me

When I hatch - I always let eggs rest, pointy end down in an egg box for 24 hours. I put them in the room where the incubator is ( room temperature) & don't move them for 24 hours. This has always been fine for me.

Thanks everyone! They have been tilted for half a day, and now they are resting pointy end down. I hope everything goes well!
