For my birthday DD and the girls have bought me a set of crochet hooks and a book called 200 Crochet Blocks. I am going to have a pracitce with some wool I have and see how it goes. I have had a couple of goes but my tension is too tight I could not get the hook in to do the second row I am away this weekend and next at archery tournamnets so I will take a hook and some wool with me and get some practice in when it is quiet. Goosey Lucy Posted June 30, 2012 Share Posted June 30, 2012 A good piece of advice I was given is to do your chain row using a hook one size larger than you will use for the main piece of work. Goosey Lucy Posted July 2, 2012 Share Posted July 2, 2012 Teehee! Some blocks don't start with a chain. You have to wind the yarn around your fingers a couple of times, do a chain then work into the loop of yarn you have made. You then pull on the loose end, the ring tightens and Bob's Your Uncle you have a lovely tight circle of stitches that act as your foundation row. But seriously, don't panic about these yet...
