good_egg
So glad to have found out about Verm-X not being effective. Have just completed day 2 of Flubenvet and poo picked the omelet netting where I let them out and there were worms in their poo! Yuck! Imagine if I hadn't found out and just carried on assuming the Verm-X we used a couple of weeks ago had worked! My question now is having found worms do I need to repeat the Flubenvet course in a few weeks? Also what do I do about their run - we have a static area with wood chip in it and I'm trying to work out how to get rid of any potential eggs etc in this - do I need to change the bark completely? Is that enough or will there be eggs in the soil/membrane? I use nettex ground sanitiser on the wood chip. As a slight aside I did just get a delivery of some easibed and easychick - a bag of each, and it looks quite good (although very similar other than smell). Its a lot smaller than the chippings i have in the run just now and i dont know if it works in our soggy weather yet but If I could get more of this then I could change the stuff in the run and try - anyone know a stockist near Edinburgh? Thankyou!
Chucky Mama
Bearing in mind that they have not been wormed before and that you have found a worms in their poo I would do them again in 6 weeks and then move to 3-4 times a year unless you feel you have an issue. Ain't Nobody Here
Didn't realise you were in Edinburgh too . I get my chickeny supplies from Drum Feeds, just off the Sherriffhall Roundabout.
good_egg
Thanks Chucky Mumma - thought that probably best but wanted to check! Thanks Ain't "Ooops, word censored!"ody Here; so useful to know a local supplier (and to have an omleteer in Ed). Do you think I should clear out run and restock? Ain't Nobody Here
You could clear out the run if you want or put down some powdered disinfectant like Stalosan F which should kill any worm eggs. Drum Feeds usually stock it - it's roughly £15 (from memory) but will last a long time.

The Dogmother
Stalosan, Ground sanitising powder or Bio Dry all do the same job. I'd leave off the bark though and try something drier as the damp will encourage to Oocysts to grow. Hemcore, Aubiose, rapport are all better. Good news that they are all wormed though.
