LolaCola
Turning eggs this morning, and I noticed another weeping egg! But on closer examination it had an hairline crack, it was a posted one, so I'm relived, I'm sure it's damaged in the post and not a repeat of last time. Should have checked them a little better before I put them in! So I done a quick candle to look for other cracks and it looks good! Ov it's a little early but I can see small shadows in all of redwings eggs, and only 2 that look clear of the others, but it's early so maybe there's still hope for them
chestnutmare
Oo exciting! I repaired a cracked egg. Chick emerged with no help... turns out he was a boy though and was rehomed last weekend. Good luck

I think at 10 days it is amazing to see Chrissie

LolaCola
Thanks. There not staying in my bedroom once they hatch Chrissie, that's for sure (a wee bit to stinky ) Had my hybrid chicks In The living room, which was great as, the kids were constantly handling them and could monitor them closely. But it was a bit smelly! Oh great a new excuse to not do the housework! I know I feel like a kid at Christmas! I did have to remove one this morning as when I went to turn them, it had an awful smell to it, it was an almost fishy smell the others seem fine though, just need to get through the next few days

Did Tumbles incy mates hatch soon after? How exciting, when I saw you had posted I hoped it was good news From the first pip it took Noir 24 hours before she hatched. Tumble from my first hatch was on his own for over3 days, he was so loud, every time we moved out of sight he cheeped so loud it almost hurt your ears With my second hatch Noir hatched closely followed by Elvis, when they had fluffed up I put them in the brooder and topped up the water in the incy and then Tumbelina and the little Dutch hatched the following day. Good luck. Keep us posted, I am so excited for you Chrissie
LolaCola
So he did get lonly by himself I didn't even have the chick gard on! 24 hours! That's going to be a long 24 hours He/she hasn't quite broke. Through the shell yet, be the little egg is moving I'll keep u posted
mimi5
Lucky you seeing it all unfold!!! Because I used broody hens I missed all that and could only hear cheeping and chipping (it has to be very quiet to hear that!!!) and of course see little chicks once they could venture out!!! Happy hatching!!!!!!

LolaCola
Nothing more has happened, still not even broke through the shell fully every time I talk to it, he/she cheeps back But I expected more to have happened over night. Does this mean there in trouble? I hadn't increased the humidity as was still on day 17, could this mean the shell might be too hard? Purplemaniacs
If hatching day is Friday day 21, Thursday day 20, Wednesday day 19 I may have got my dates wrong?, I thought it was the 31st as it would have been my Dad's birthday? If I was you I would increse the humidity, not sure how you do it on the mini but if you have to take the lid off I would do it as quickly as possible and replace the lid. Tumble hatched with no increased humidity. Any sign of anything happening to the other eggs? Chrissie
LolaCola
Yep Chrissie, your right I did increase the humiditiy as soon as a I saw the crack, so yesterday lunch time. No, no signs with the others yet!
Purplemaniacs
Some eggs do seem to take ages and you begin to think they will never do it and suddenly there is a large crack and then they give a stretch and out they come. Off to school training day when I get home I hope there will be some chick news Chrissie
LolaCola
I went up to check on my little cracked egg, only to witness another egg bust open and a little soggy chick wobbled out i didn't even see any movement from that egg at all! a lovely surprise then the whole family watched the other one struggle for half an hour and eventually !!!! Took photos, not good quality as its through the inccy, but will add more once they are all fluffy and ready to be handled
