I have three new chickens. I got them at about 9 weeks old - so they are about 17 weeks now. When should I change them over to layers pellets?

when they start laying

it's not an exact science, they can stay on whatever you're feeding them now till it's used up

Oh and we all know how freaked out chickens can be by a slight change! So mix some of your growers with layers and then gradually increase until you're swopped over!! I do this if I ever change brand.........keeps the pekins from having a hissy fit!!

Ditto what the others have said, they are old enough to go onto Layers now.

 

The pellets will be a similar size (Smallholder range pellets are small, D&H are too big IMO) but have calcium in which is why they can't be fed too early. Use up most of the growers to save wasting it and then gradually mix in the layers
