Cinnamon
Certainly something for Omlet to think about for next year. Maybe it could have a Man In Pants on it to give us something to keep us occupied too

Cate in NZ
Back to chicken advent calendars (I've obviously missed the Tim Curry in stilletoes thread, thank goodness I don't want to even think about him, or Monty Don attired as transvestites). I've not seen a chickeny themed advent calendar, but how about making your own? I got really fed up with chocolate advent calendars a few years ago, and the picture ones just didn't impress my little darlings, so I made one- just a large piece of felt with 24 pockets stitched on it. Mines not very good to be honest, naive art at it's worst I'd suggest, but I did it quickly and it's a few years old now. Anyway I fill the pockest with little itty, bitty things, sweets and chocolates on a few days of course, interspersed with little gifts, erasers, stickers, pencil sharpeners, hairbands, earrings and the like. I'm sure you find a few chickeny bits to pop in, an egg cup, teaspoon, chicken or egg shaped erasers or chocolate, and for Christmas Eve- the freshest egg possible to be boiled for breakfast
freerange
Funnily enough a friend has just launched her Christmas range http://jellybee.co.uk/customer/home.php?cat=258 so I might see if she can do a chicken on one.
Emma
I managed to find a tradional looking advent calenda(not a chocolate in sight) from a shop called Sussex Stationers with chickens on. It's actually a scene of a wooden hen house and chooks in the snow. AAAhhh!!! Sussex Stationers aren't only in Sussex, as my Dad lives in Dorset and they have a branch there.
