stacey30
Hello, I have 2 coops in my pen with 6 girls and 3 chicks (7 weeks) they all live together never had a problem with them all being one family all together. I have noticed tonight though 1 hen is sleeping in the coop alone All the others are nesting together, 3 are actually still covering the chicks at night. It's Noodles whose alone, looks happy enough and i'd say she is at the end of the pecking order. Maybe she's just enjoying sleeping in the nesting box instead of the perch? Mine always lie down at night with preference being the boxes not the bars Any thoughts? Many thanks
HH HENS
Hi I also have two hen houses in one walk in run and I have one chicken who has decided to sleep on her own, don't know why but there you go. Sometimes I move one of the other hens in with her if its a bit cold, but she is not to keen as she growls as I put the other hen in. Providing you r lonely hen is well I shouldn't worry they are fickle creatures.
jackian
I have two coups and until a couple of months ago Rosie who is bottom of pecking order slept on her own and was quite happy. ..Until Poppy decided to go in with her and then Clover .So now i have an empty coup (for the moment ) If I was Rosie I would be really fed up about it as I am sure one of them snores
