Eggasperated Posted October 26, 2012 Share Posted October 26, 2012 Just been to my local Sainsbury to get some of this peel and it appears they don't stock it anymore, there also seems to be some discussion on the Internet whether it actually exists anymore as apparently they have been taken over by Whitworths. Has anyone seen it about recently? I would prefer not to use the ready chopped mixed peel and I don't really want to have to make my own. I last bought some (well hubby bought some instead of mixed peel) from Sainsburys, but that was a few years ago. It's a shame if they no longer make it as it was much nicer than the mixed peel even though it was a bit of a bind to chop it up. Have you tried any specialist baking shops? chickencam Posted October 31, 2012 Share Posted October 31, 2012 It is a bit of pain to cut up but a good strong pair if scissors helps or a heavy sharp knife, but the flavour is way superior to the ready done peel in pots. I must remember to pop into Waitrose this evening after swimming, because I can see it being in short supply if they are the only stockist.
