UKMARCH
Have been away over the half term holiday and unfortunately midweek I got a text that one of newest hens was missing and after a search was found dead stuck between the eglu and the fence. I can only think she tried to jump on top slipped down and got wedged. They were well looked after but feel guilty about going away, why do these things always happen while you're not there? jackian
Oh that is such a shame and very sad I am sure it could have happened if you had stayed at home. I know I always feel guilty leaving them when we go away but it could even happen just you popping to the shops.
zakjon-98
Such a shame I agree it could have happened if you were at home too.
coco
Don't feel too bad these things happen. We recently had a week in Eygpt and came home to find one of my buff sussex growers had died. I felt bad as I had left them in someone elses care but a few days later her sister died. I think the first one would have died anyway even if I had been home. Very sad. Cheeky Chooky
Oh that's a shame but I agree with the other posters; it could just as easily have happened when you were at home *hug*
