Lavenders_Blue
I've not heard of that food before but it looks pretty good! Might want to check the provenance of the chicken/egg in the food though?
quickcluck
Apparently it's supposed to be brilliant and is all British made.....
chicken bark
My local food store has just started selling so thought I might give it a go. Will look into the chicken bit more.

bluekarin
Looks good. It says it contains Free Run chicken which after a bit of research appears to be barn chickens which have access to outside for certain periods in the day more info here
chicken bark
Great link bluekarin. I've emailed the company to see what they say, especially regarding the source of their dried egg. I guess Free - Run which, as the article says, it what most hobby keepers actually do, is better than alternatives. I'll let you know what they say. The Dogmother
I will have a look into it too. Ruddy typos on their front page put me off somewhat though I only use a tiny bit of dried food and feed mainly raw, so tend to buy as good a brand as I can afford as I'm not using much. I currently use either Jon Angell or Fish4Dogs salmon working dog food.
Mercedes55
I heard about them on another forum and as they are based In Chesham which is not far from me I emailed them hoping to find a local supplier. Unfortunately our nearest supplier is about half an hour away and although Canagan said they offered a money back guarantee I decided to try a trial bag of Origen instead. However our shih tzu seemed to have trouble eating the puppy sized Origen so we are just feeding her Nature Diet now. I hate all those cereals they put in pet food and find it a nightmare trying to get the right food
The Dogmother
I have emailed them for samples, more out of curiosity than a desire to change feed. I've not had an answer as yet, and that was sent yesterday.

Mercedes55
It took them over a week to reply to my email
The Dogmother
you'd think that as a young company, they'd be more on the ball. One check of their website stats would show them a lot of links from this forum... doesn't take much to realise that an ounce of effort on their part could generate a lot of business and online PR. chicken bark
Still not had a reply from Canagan yet but thought I would get some for my whippet. She usually takes a lot of cajoling to eat her food but today her dishes have been licked clean and she has had seconds (not supposed to do that as it is given by a weighed amount but she is on the slim side and needs fattening up a bit). It is expensive, especially as I purchased a 2kg bag to try her with first. However, if you believe the gumph then she should eat less of it and so it should work out about the same as other foods. Good news so far. Just wish they would up their customer services side and reply to me. It was the fish one that we went for, the chicken one is a bit cheaper. The Dogmother
I might just ring them when I have a moment... I really hate sloppy customer services.
chicken bark
Thought I would add an update to this. Annie does not like the fish flavoured one - it was okay for a bit but she soon got fussy again. Also the company have still not got back to me Needless to say this is not the dog food for me and my dog.
