Chickola
Hi all, i have got myself in a pickle! I need a sack of food to get me through the christmas period..my local feed shop only has mixed corn or layers pellets in stock..my chicks are 8 weeks old. I have read about the dangers of feeding layers pellets. but am not sure about the mixed corn as have never fed this! These chicks have been on growers recently. any advice greatly recieved
Purplemaniacs
I would say they need to be on growers but I am no expert, only hatched eggs this year. Where abouts are you? There may be someone close by who could let you have some growers to see you over the Christmas period. Chrissie

Redwing
They should be on growers For anyone else who finds themselves with the same problem I would feed the mixed corn. Its mianly wheat these days and in winter is an acceptable feed for short periods of time If you have no choice but to feed layers pellets then get the smallest bag you can to tide you over
