christyrose12
Hi. I was wondering if the divide between the nesting area and the roosting area can be removed or does it come as one fixed unit? If so has anyone removed it? Also does the roof slide off? If it does, is this to be able to check the girls or is it for cleaning etc? Does the back panel come off without having to remove the roof? Purplemaniacs
The devide between the nesting box and the bars does come out, I only take mine out to do the dreaded clean The roof slides a few inches over the front but then stops. You need to slide the roof forward to take the back off. Hope that helps Chrissie
mimi5
Hi, the roof can completely slid off, but I've only done this once to give the "gutters" it runs along a good clean! You do need to slid the roof off a little to remove the back panel. Sometimes I peak at mine through the nestbox hole!! Also I tip I got from The Dogmother is you can use the smallest sized trug as a perfect fit to block off the nestbox! I do this when the girls aren't laying and also when there's one who's broody. Once they've laid I block it off (although my Molly who is very determined has found that she can fly over the top!!! )
