charly1979
I have just installed BT Family protection (powered by Mcafee) and in the booklet it mentions ipods etc but I cant see how it works with them ? What I want to do is switch of my daughters iPod internet after a set time and restrict youtube, I know that I can put parental controls on but they that will aply to my phone and ipad we share our account as we both like the same games music etc (I suspect that will all change in years to come ) With my computing degree etc I should know how to do all this but I am really stumped. If anyone knows how this can be achieved either with or without the BT package and not for a silly amount of money that would be great, and yes I know the simplest option is to remove the Ipod at a set time but shes sneaky and im forgetful plus I switch myself off after 8:30. Hubbys realing off ways to do it using mac addresses oh I hated my networking module perhaps I will just switch the router off after 8 ..... but then will have a 'happy hubby'

The Dogmother
I feel your pain; that's why DD doesn't have an ipod with internet access on it. The computers are pretty much locked down as regards what she can and can't view, and her phone has internet access barred as kids at school used to run up bills on others' phones Handily her dad has given her a tab for c'mas there's no way of restricting internet access on that, not that she can't undo anyhow, but she may only use it at his house and when he can see what she's doing. I'd rather that she uses her time more profitably as regards her school work. Helpfully, our neighbours have unsecured wifi that's a stronger signal than ours, so turning the router off isn't a fix. Geoid
You can do it by using MAC addresses. Log into your homehub as an admin. Go to settings then select BT access control, there are options there to restrict internet usage on certain devices at certain times. charly1979
Fred A big kiss ... THANKS I think I may just love you to pieces ! Ive not told hubby about your advice so I can have some fun later and disable his laptop and playstation mind you I may laugh and be cocky as my laptop could well also be one of the devices that isnt clearly labelled so I may be offline from 9:30 onwards (whoops). The best thing is he doesnt know the password to the hub ive told him what it is but he wont be able to remember it so when I need him to do stuff I can disable the internet. oh the joys of it all i am a very happy women
