I was less than capable on skis .....and totally lost the will to live as a tot of her size went whizzing by on skis, as I was sat on the snow rubbing sore ankles which hadn't snapped out of the skis...he had no sticks & was sooooooooo comfortable & at ease....my skis took flying lessons & I left the snow until my friend's 8yo son took me in hand & got me standing & delicately moving on the blasted things! I was only about 20 at the time (more than doubled in the intervening years ) and never tried to ski since....

I am also useless....nowadays I go tobogganing for my speed thrills with a bit of x-country skiing as you go a lot slower
