craftyhunnypie
Next month, my craft group that I go to are doing Kumihimo / Japanese braiding. Has anyone ever done it? I have googled it & it looks easy! You can even make your own board / ring to do it with... here... http://friendship-bracelets.net/tutorial.php?id=592 Guess what I will be making later? bluekarin
Looks interesting. A bit like French braiding with the doll, but a bit more detailed. Look forward to seeing your results

craftyhunnypie
I printed my own disc & glued it to a paper plate, before cutting it out. I used 8 strands - 4 black, 4 gold & told myself left up left, right down right. Then I did a quarter turn clockwise before repeating these steps. I've ended up with a twisted braid that I'm actually quite pleased with & will turn into a bracelet once I buy some correct jewellery findings. I only used embroidery thread, so it is quite thin. But I'll look around for some rat tail or nylon cord to try. There are lots of designs for Kumihimo dics & lots of patterns for cords to make. It was easy & quite relaxing to do. I know, I know - you need photos! Emma.x
