Panic stricken - warning for Go owners

Recommended Posts

was going to clean the Go but had problems getting the back door on as the Eglu seemed to shrink when I tried to get it back on . Wasnt too messy inside or frozen so I did the only thing I could and poured boiling water over outside and got door back on. Was panicking as girls would not have been secure. About to order the extreeme jacket - probably be too late for this bout of bad weather. Poor hens dont want to go out - cant blame them. So it will remain dirty till I can get door on and off easily. Hope they will be ok. :(

Ooo errr. You might want to give omlet a call and let them know your experience. My cube is frozen shut at the mo. But I can check on the girls via the egg port and the pop hole is working ok too! :D

I have to confess I am now officially fed up with the weather!!!!!!! I just want spring ...NOW!!!! Not asking too much is it???

Not quite sure if this is the same sort of thing but I find the door of our !goyellow! harder to get back on as the days go by in between cleaning because I top up the Aubiose to cover where the ducks have pooped every night. When it gets harder to close the door, I move the Aubiose away from the back edge and 'lift' the !goyellow! off the ground slightly and that seems to do the trick  Sorry if that's not what you meant! :?

We have a Go as well. The only time I've had problems getting the back door to fit has been when something has stopped the base tray and roosting bars being slid all the way back in, such as debris trapped in the end of the runners. If this isn't all the way in, it stops the two lugs on the bottom of the door from going into the slots in the bottom rail properly. This, in turn, makes the door sit high and prevents it shutting properly.

agreed with previous posts- i sometimes have had difficulty when either the garden ground i have moved it to is uneven, or i have been over generous with the newspaper lining or aubiose in the tray and it snags in the runners-

either way you don't want to be messing around in this cold!
