Silly Question re NPower

Recommended Posts

Hi just wondering has anyone else had any issues with NPower ?? (I suspect we have all had problems with one or all of the big suppliers) I think we are about to be screwed over by them ..

May last year we were in about to go into credit as our monthly payment was due in days after the bill but aparently the computer system couldnt take this into account and they automatically put our payments up ... OH was going to deal with it but one thing led to another and time just flew by till now .

Online it shows us as being £3000 + in credit but we have not been billed since April 2012 so clearly some of that money will be for gas and leccy. Phoned them updated our readings etc. I got told today we havent been billed since September 2011 and anything after that is a mistake (mainly that April bill) and its all being recaclulated.

Its so frustrating and annoying I have found the April bill which they think we couldnt see online until a minute ago I couldnt see it but I have found it in another area but I suspect its gone to take me and the hubby hours of trying to work it all out groan !!

We normally get quartly bills unless they have changed it without telling us which seems that may be the case but having said that in May last year they said something about our special price plan coming to an end ???

Either way they rekon it will take 28 days to sort out so im not amused at all having said that we are also to blame to allow this to go on for so long I mean surely £216 a month is exessive for electric and gas considering our heating was off from March - November and from April - October we arent home over the weekends and I havent had a tumble dryer for 4 months ................... so thought we should be saving money however if it seems that we arent in credit then Im afaid heating is going off and we shall be using a lot of candles

I have had similar issues to this with this company; resulting in a court date being set because they believed we had not, and would not, pay our bills (when in fact it was a mixture of them not sending us bills for 18 months (on paper billing), and then a member of a shared house not paying). When they finally looked at our bill and resent it to us they'd overcharged us by about £250, which they then had to take off! I can PM you with info if you want, but I would definitely say to you now that whenever you ring up, ask to speak directly with a manager, not just the person who answers the phone call, and make a point of asking him/her for their full name/details so that if you are forced to take further action on this that you can specifically say who you have been speaking to.

Chris sorry to hear yuo have had issues to, thanks for your advice I will PM if we need any further help advice etc, think I may let hubby take over going to give them a chance to see what they say whilst they 'look' into our problem but if it doesnt tally then we will be taking more action and right to the top
