welovemarmite
yes ok, totally unrelated other than both gone wrong this weekend. so i have a blocked drain which means i cant use the dishwasher, the washing machine and minimal use of the sink.... so i have to try and find someone good and no rip me off on monday morning and... the vacuum has gone wrong. the roller bearings went and we replaced that part, but now thats lasted about 2 weeks and its severely on its last legs. looking at various ones they are so expensive. Looking to do tesco direct (clubcard points) or argos (nectar) have about £40 to put towards one. are pet hair ones really worth the extra money? The Dogmother
... and the third thing to go wrong... ? Sorry I have a Miele cat and dog vacuum; I resisted getting a 'good' vacuum cleaner for ages but this really is worth the money and does an excellent job. welovemarmite
well i have ordered a non pet vax from argos, hubbie going to pic it up today. With our nectar points it will cost use just over £30. I would love a swish one, but not go the money at the moment, particularly with the drains going as well. Someone i know has some rods, so hopefully going to pick them up today to see if we can clear it ourselves before having to get a man out! stu
Caustic Soda will clear the drain perhaps... just pour in a tub of it and wait... it 'eats' everything in timebut stand back... it can fizz and can also heat up quite a bit, depending on what it finds. welovemarmite
i do have some that i got in for making soap. A friend is lending me some rods so will try that first. Thing is I think the blocked part of the drain comes off at right angles to our access, so not sure whether the caustic soda would work.
