counturchickens
Well we've found our missing duck, frustratingly she's sitting, looking pretty weak by an inaccessible part of the canal. Have rung the RSPCA and they'll let us know if they'll come out.

counturchickens
I've posted for help in the nesting box section as the RSPCA can't help! Going to try luring her with a food station and am borrowing a net. So traumatised!

counturchickens
No sign tonight, but a very nice lady who's garden backs on to the river who let us have a good look. We also saw some local lads who fish round the sighting area, and I've offered them £50 if they find her. Also got in touch with a local wildlife rescue who suggested leaving some food out to see if she will come to feed, so done that too. I feel slightly less fraught today as at least we've taken some action. It's probably a long shot, but we'll keep trying. The good news is the remaining 2 seem to be settling in
Chortle Chook
Oh I so hope you get her back. What colour is she - if she is black East Indian then she should at least be well camouflaged. Good idea to put food out.

counturchickens
No sign again tonight, but perhaps she has joined some of the other ducks and got her freedom?? Will keep checking, but not holding out much hope now. Thankfully I did get 3 so left with a pair, who will now be Tom and Barbara.
Chortle Chook
Yes, perhaps she has 'gone wild'. I am sorry but glad, too, that you have the lovely Tom and Barbara . . . Maybe they'll have ducklings in the summer
