Bumpa bit and eating

Recommended Posts

Yesterday I sadly had to resort to putting bumpa bits on two of my girls as the 3rd was being constantly feather pecked. Neither of the girls with the bits was at all happy. One seems better today but poor Elsie looks very forlorn and doesn't seem to be managing to eat as well as normal. I have put a full grub back in the run in addition to a hanging feeder, thinking she may find it easier to feed from a deep filled container.

By searching online it seems most people find they can eat normally with the bit on but I'm wondering if anyone knows how long it may take for her to get used to it?

Many thanks.
