Take part in study on PFAS 'forever chemicals' in eggs

Since last week the number of eggs being laid by my three girls has gone down alarmingly (or so I thought). I was beginning to think they were all ill when I discovered the culprit this morning. A huge crow had found his way into the walk-in run and was helping himself to the eggs in the eglu! He has been back a few times since I chased him out. My girls lay their eggs at different times of the day and I'm not always around to collect them as soon as they have laid. Has anyone got any ideas how I can deal with this thief please?

I had a problem with a magpie doing the same thing last year. I hung old CD's at the entrance to the run but that didn't help. Eventually I put a roll away nest box in the eglu and that seemed to make a difference. Although sometimes one of the girls laid her eggs on the roosting bars. Eventually I think the magpie forgot about the eggs as it was harder for it to get them and so far this year there has not been a problem...yet

Thanks for replying. I will try the roll away egg box and see what happens. I have just been out to the nest box and found 3 eggs so I have beaten the crow today! Yippee
