good_egg
So, in our WIR we put a load of woodchip from FSF on the basis it would last etc... I'm trying to work out how long to leave it and what to change it to when I so change. The reason for woodchip was that we could reuse it in the garden when the girls have finished and also that it takes more effort to fling through the weldmesh!! It's a bit soggy in the corners sometimes and there is quite a layer of "stuff" underneath. I'm debating easibed but worried about the soggy corners... Help! Ain't Nobody Here
I've used Easibed for years and wouldn't change. It does get soggy at the exposed sides but a quick hoe and it soon dries up!
Chickabee
White wood chips smell much nicer and are much easier to rake and clean, in my opinion. Although I'm now using chopped straw, which is also easy to maintain.
good_egg
What do you mean by white wood chips?
kissinuk
I've tried everything but for me straw is the best. I get large bales for £2.80 from Welland Valley Feeds (a horsey type shop), bargain.
