Hello!

To help deal with the mudfest which is my Cube Run at the moment, I'm thinking of putting some logs in there for the girls to hang out on (not big logs - firewood size) - just wondered if I'm in danger of encouraging red mite by having wood in there?

Any ideas anyone, please?

Well mine have an old tree branch to perch on, I do sprinkle it with DE occasionally so don't think it harbours anything. I guess it depends on how many cracks and crevices it has for the mites to hide as they like dark places.

Went to a lot of trouble getting them a new branch from an old cherry tree - they were terrified, its now on the patio whilst they get used to it silly girls.

Why not spray it with Total Mite Kill (pink spray) to be sure?
