jjmack
Hi, looking for accommodation ideas in London. I am down there for a course with a friend in April. We are at university college London hospital near euston. I have done loads of searches but a decent hotel in reasonable area (within30 mins on tube) with a twin ensuite room seem to be coming in expensive. Any ideas of hotels/area that fits the bill gratefully received. Unfortunately as an nhs worker got to pay for travel and accommodation ourselves! patsylabrador
I can tell you that if you can get something suitable along the Metropolitan Line, it is pretty straight forward and quick to get to Euston. Just a straight line, no changes. This would include places like Harrow, Ruislip and Uxbridge. All outer suburbs so hopefully cheaper. During rush hour a fast train goes from Harrow on the Hill into London. Also, my sister stayed at a hostel in Earls Court in a private room. I think it was ok. jjmack
Thanks for that, I have no idea on what's on what line so that helps greatly. I will have a look at a bit further out.
patsylabrador
The Harrow Hotel is well known. I've driven past it a million times and it's been there a long time. I don't know how good/bad it is but I've never heard anything bad- so that's good. It is about 5 minutes walk from the tube station if that. I'm not fond of Harrow, it's certainly not pretty but there are lots of shops, eating places etc right on your doorstep. If it's the right price that could be quite a practical one to stay at. Chickendoodle
If the dates you are down coincide with the Easter Holidays you could try a London University. Many of them rent out rooms in the halls of residence over the holidays at a very cheap rate http://www.ukstudentlife.com/Travel/Accommodation/StudentRoom.htm#UK
jjmack
That's a great shout, always fancy going back to halls .. It's been a few years. They look reasonable too. Thanks
kissinuk
I stayed in the halls at Westminster for a night when I went to a concert couple of years ago. Room was fine, shared shower but clean (and cheap!). However I have a feeling they're not available until nearer summer. This is where I stayed: http://www.westminster.ac.uk/business/facilities-and-services/summer-accommodation/wigram-house
