I'm on countdown now until my cube arrives! It's due to arrive on Tuesday, but there is a chance it might be here on Monday - as it is leaving the warehouse on Friday. I really really can't wait, I've been so patient waiting for my cube. The thing is, I have to wait until Wednesday until hubby can make it up - I'm not too handy you see & I'm not sure if my little pink tool box would be up to the job!

My sister is going to get her chickens at weekend, one of her friends is taking her to a rare breeds place, I am unsure where. I'm wondering if it is Wernlas? I'm hoping there will be room in the car for me too!!!

I wonder what she will come home with? She's got room for about 12 hens as she has converted a shed into a hen house. It's quite good actually what she's done.

Come on cube I need you!!!!

Good luck with the new cubes both of you

They are fab :D

We had our new girls from the Wernlas Collection. It's a fantastic place, if you go you'll love it

Just one problem with it; there is too much choice, you'll want to take all the chooks home 8)

Not too long to wait now :D

Arrrrggggh Moochoo - yours will be put up for you as you are getting chooks with it! 8)

Mines coming by courier & I'm really hoping it arrives on Monday instead of Tuesday as I'm not in all day Tuesday & if it arrives Monday, hubby says he might just build it Monday night! But saying that if it doesn't, then hubby will make it up on Wednesday & I have to go out Wednesday afternoon - so it would be fantastic to come home to all built up with the original Omlet girlies in. My Coronation street chooks will think they have moved out of their terrace and into one one the posh houses across the cobbles!!! he he

I'm not sure what day we will be chookie shopping - probably Saturday & origianlly I was going to go to Garden Poultry, but I'm not sure if they have had any more deliveries. So if not, we will go to Wernlas. I love it there! I also want to reserve my bantams anyway from there ( my pekins, seabright & maybe a nankin). It's a nice day out too & we could pop into Ludlow before hand. Nice tearoom there - but no cakes for me!

I can't wait to see if the orange cube will glow in the dark! :D

It's also a good excuse for some new crocs - orange Mary Janes as I've already got caymans in orange.

We are worrying about how to move the mk2 with the & the chooks from existing area, for the cube to go there. I don't think you can take the run off the eglu without the chooks running around the garden & I don't want them getting stuck in our holly hedges or going in neighbouring gardens!

Any ideas? We thought about just making the cube up on the decking then waiting for the chooks to go bed in the eglu. Shutting the door - then carrying the eglu & run out of the way....then lifting & wheeling the cube into the existing mk2 area - then lifting the chooks into the cube one by one from the egg port? What a palava it will be - they will all think mummy has gone supermad! I want to re clip their wings too!

I wonder who will be boss chicken when I get my new 3??? At the moment it is Blanche my pepperpot, she is very greedy, but trim & very vocal, but loveable also. It will be interesting to watch, any extremely bossy chuck will get water pistol treatment and a night in solitude in the mk2!!!!

Oh I'm soooooo excited!

There was about 30 snow white's and lots of coral's we didnt see any bluebell's though but the man (who is very nice) was expecting another order in.

We have a Coral called Gemma and she is gorgous!!! very tame and lays huge eggs! We have a snow white too, called Mishief, she is very flighty and still runs away when we go in the run  she lays lovley pure white eggs though and is very pretty.

hope this helps

googd luck with your new hens

Hiya - I've seen you've got 6 hens in a cube. Do you have the standard run or do you have an extension as well? I've just gone for the standard run, but hoping to make an enclosure.

Oh I hope they get some blue comets in soon!!! That might be why the man hasn't rung me.

I've got a thing about wanting a white chicken! :D

If there are no blue comets, then I might go for one that lays chocolate eggs!
