Chortle Chook
I've got rather fed up with PhotoBucket and wanted to find another system to hold my photos. I've heard 'instagram' is easy peasy, but I can't see how to register. There is a nice big log in button but where do you register in the first place? (Rather suspect I'm being dim but I know dear Omlet people won't mind ) And are there other picture storing and sharing thingys that other people like better? Plum
I downloaded an app but beyond adding a few contacts and posting a couple of pictures it's all a mystery so would love to know how it works
patsylabrador
I can't remember exactly but I think I pressed the log in button and went from there. I think it's more fun if you use hashtags ie #chickens or #trees then people who like various things search for those words and you start to communicate with people all over the world. So if I share a picture of the Thames I could put #Thames #London #southbank #favouriteplace I share pictures for example with people from America, Australia, Turkey,Israel, South Korea, Thailand, Russia and some I don't know where they're from. I find it quite a friendly place and it's nice to see inside their lives, people are keen and generous to share. People share their passions for gardening, food, landscapes, clouds, their family, themselves. I don't often know what they're saying but that doesn't really matter. There is a star shape which gets you to the search bar. To share on here you simply get the Url and post it. I'm jude_1066
Willow
What a great explanation Jude, I haven't used Instagram yet as I'm not much of a photographer but it sounds rather fun.
patsylabrador
It is fun Willow and although there are professional photographers on there, most of us just post snaps with some nifty apps to photoshop them. My most recent was a bowl of 'flamin' hot cheetos'!
PurpleTree
I use Instagram a lot, it's an easy way to share pics to FB and Twitter. I've only ever used it on my iPhone, so downloaded the app and presumably followed the instructions to log in. It's all closely linked to FB now though, so you might be able to log in using your FB login (guessing here). I follow lots of people I talk to on Twitter & have found new crafty people who like crochet. It can be very inspiring.
