johnandgaynor
Hi all! Took delivery of our new Eglu Classic today and assembled it in preparation for ducks in a few weeks. Only the fence to go around their area of the garden and all sorted. New to keeping ducks and finding forum a great source of information and advice and will continue to swatt up on duckology Wee decision yet to make is on breed and numbers. We have narrowed choice down to 2 or 3 White or Khaki Campbells or Cherry Valleys, hopefully the Classic will be big enough for three. If anyone can advise or comment on breed choice and numbers please let us know. Will have lots more posts when ducks arrive and hopefully can eventually input into the forum rather than rely on everyone elses experience and help. All the best John & Gaynor
johnandkymberley
Hi can't see the pics lol We have not long got 2 drakes, in our classic... As I said in another post they are doing fine in their. We rescued them from someone who didn't want them tbh... P.s if your looking for something for them to bathe in when they are let out, ikea do a plastic white under bed storage tub but it's quite big and a good depth too... Just thought you'd like to know lol
johnandgaynor
Hi guys, thanks for reply. Yes picture is just a jumble of words at our end too, blast my feeble brain lol! Followed the guide on adding pics but as you can see no luck so we have asked a moderator for advice on posting pics from photobucket but no response yet. Will Google it and have another bash. For the bath we found a pet bath online for £20 which has a wee plug for emptying it out so there is no need to tip it up. Great idea on the Ikea tub though, have a few of these, wlll remember this for next time. Going to opt for three ducks just in case we lose one through illness etc. There is a lot posted here about them becoming lonely if there is only one. Hopefully have them in a week or so just waiting on breeder to call. Cheers!

johnandgaynor
At last our ladies have arrived safe and well. They are currently settling into the Eglu and we'll let them out into the run very soon. Very excited, feels like Christmas. Even our old Lab Lucy is interested and very curious and nothing normally excites her! Will post a pic when the girls are outside.

johnandgaynor
Here are the two ladies Bluebell and Jemima having a wee splash in an Ikea storage tray and loving it. Great fun to sit and watch, they are a wee bit timid and unsure of surroundings but seem to be settling in fine. They love the garden sprinkler and are eating and drinking fine so early signs good.
