Luvachicken
Ok, so another vet bill, plus I had to take our rabbit at the same time, so an expensive animal outing today. Queenie is fine in herself and the chest infection long gone but she still has squiffy poo with water in it. The vet last week said to bring her back if she was still like it so I took her today. But the vet we saw today - different to last week - didn't seem that bothered about her poo at all and said she should be back to normal soon. I was thinking about getting her some Beryl's 12 bird sachet mix but it is quite expensive when I only have 4 chickens - apparently they can all have it as a boost - but I would be wasting 2/3rds of it. Does anyone know if I can get a smaller portion and if so where from ? Our rabbit has got arthritis in his paw
blueandwhite
I hope the second vet is right and Queenie gets well soon. Poor rabbit - always something with pets. My cat got stung by a bee a few weeks ago. He had a massive front leg, not seen anything like it. Fine now - just hope he remembers not to chase bees again! UKMARCH
That's good news, I haven't used Beryl's but have used Avipro which is good for after antibiotics to help stomach balance you can use it in the water or sprinkle on food. Poor rabbit hope the vets has helped.
Luvachicken
Thank you both. I will look up the Avipro and see which might be better.
Claireabella
Awww, sorry to hear about your rabbit. Good news that Queenie is on the mend though My Fleur has recently been ill and then had an impacted crop and her poops are still a little watery too. I've tried Avipro plus, which has all good vitamins and pre and probiotics but it doesn't tend to dry up the poops. The Dogmother has recommended Orego-stim (sp?) to rebalance the gut and improve poops; thought this might be good for your Queenie too
Luvachicken
Thanks Claireabella, I had read about the orego-stim on your post. For now I have ordered the Beryl's sachet and hope that does the trick. It should arrive tomorrow. I thought I had some of that orego stuff but couldn't seem to find it. There seems to be a lot of products claiming the same thing and it really is hard to know which one to choose for the best. I hope your little Fleur gets well soon. They are such a worry all these animals. Our rabbit Crunchie was very well behaved at the vets and I gave him his medicine as soon as we got home. He was a model patient
