Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

Tikka has gone lame all of a sudden. She's been very quiet of the last week and today is barely moving around. She is eating and drinking. When I go out with treats she waddles over instead of the run she normally does. Her tail is right down to the floor and she is totally silent. Not even a soft cluck I have brought her indoors with water (incl acv) and food with some poultry spice and limestone in. Has any one got any idea what it could be?

Have you checked her feet or legs for any obvious injuries ?

If she doesn't have anything on her feet or legs then the waddling could be a cause of concern.

I am not certain of a diagnosis but when one of mine waddled she had peritonitis and needed to go to the vets.

She may just be feeling under the weather if she is going to lay a softie though.

I'm sure someone will be along with a better answer soon.

She has no obvious injuries. Her feet look same as normal. She's not laid an egg for several months. She is over 6 years old so we've assumed that's it for eggs from her. Never heard her be so quiet. She's just laid down, fully alert but not wanting to move

Sometimes chickens go off their legs for no apparent reason. We've had one which appeared to be neurological. So I think a vet trip is in order Shiney Chez because anti-inflammatories can help.

Awww, poor wee thing.

She is doing well for a 6 year old chook.

Apart from suggesting a trip to the vets I am not sure what else to advise, sorry.

Thanks for your advice anyway. Just was wondering if there was anything else I could do for her before ringing the vet tomorrow. She's fast asleep in a box next to me so fingers crossed she may wake up brighter!
