Chickabee
I've got 2 girls sitting on 6 fertile eggs. It's 21 days tomorrow. I don't think I'm going to have much success though, as there was a lot of messing around at the beginning. How long should I leave it before I take the eggs away? Beantree
I'd wait 3 days Chickabee. I heard of a hatch 4 days late but only once. Did you count the first day as day zero? If not it's only day 20 tomorrow.
Chickabee
No I counted the first day as 1, so I will give it 4 days

Chickabee
Well they are blue eggs and I don't have a candle thingy. I would have been much more optimistic if my original broody didn't change her mind. The eggs are from a good source and they didn't come through the post. Still I'll wait and see, even if I just get one little surprise it will be good

Chickabee
Yesterday one of the girls had moved one of the eggs and I noticed it was cold. Today she's completely abandoned it. I opened it there was a dead chick inside. I think it was a girl too. They are cream legbars it was dark grey. Feel a little sad, but it does mean they have been successfully incubating the others. Will keep a close eye on them. I'm at home all day, don't want her chucking any more out
