soapdragon
I am nurturing a Tesco camembert at the moment having decided its so hard to buy cheese at the absolute point of runny ripeness. OH complained at the w/e that I was taking more care of it than him! Its in and out of the 'fridge and repeatedly sniffed and squeezed...ooooh heavens, this sounds like mild cheese porn Mind you, I remain convinced that this is the only way to ensure totally perfect ripeness! The Dogmother
do you have a cool room where you can leave it at room temperature to ripen?
soapdragon
We have a fairly chilly utility room so it gets put in there during the day, monitored regarding temp and then returned to the 'fridge at night! Will get another one this week so that its ready a week or so after the current Camembert 'baby'
The Dogmother
reminds me of that cake or bread starter stuff that everyone was into a few years back.
