Solitary chicken - need advice

My local garden centre had a new type of garden bedding. It is mainly chopped coconut fiber, in pieces similar in size to wood chips. It is not as heavy as the wood chips and had a good price.

I was wondering if this would be a nice bedding for my Go Up run. I know aubiose and such are perfect, but my run is not rain proof, so it would get wet too fast.

 

Anyone experience with this?

My biggest concern: can it be bad for them?

Can't think of any reason why I couldn't try this, but I hoped somebody already used/tried it.

Never heard of it before I am afraid. I am an Aubroise and Easibed fan.

It's stuff you could also use in your garden for decoration or a foot path etc.

 

They were on grass... It's now dirt. They don't seem to mind though.
