The Dogmother
Never heard of them, but I'd be interested to hear if it works. I have used Nemotodes in the garden against slugs before, so in theory this could work. Having said that, I have a preventative routine already, and it works well, but always open to new ideas. Lewis
These have been around for at least 3 years 'cos I researched them for my dissertation - I believe Chicken Vet started selling them first. It seems they are much more sensitive to red mite treatment than red mite themselves so you can only really use them in an untreated coop - no red mite sprays, diatom powder etc. It's good that once the red mite disappear, the predator mites lose their food supply and so they die off too, but it does mean you'll then have to start preventative measures to ensure they don't come back. The Dogmother
Hmm, so could work to knock back an infestation, but not as an ongoing treatment.
