Mar1a
Of my five girls, 4 are about 23 weeks and one maybe about 21-22. Two are laying regularly. Two more have been crouching for the last week and a half, and the youngest started today. One of the crouchers, my bluebelle, has been going in and out of the nest box for three days, for about 15 minutes at a time. But there is STILL no egg from her I swear she's doing it just to wind me up! She only has today to get a first egg extra special treat from me because I'm starting worming week tomorrow! Valkyrie
She's probably getting the urge but perhaps not ready yet. I remember a couple of mine would do that - and they were a couple of years old. Braxton Hicks then!
Mar1a
There was an egg in the next box this morning My other two layers are mid-late morning/lunchtime layers so I'm not convinced it was either of them. When I compared it at home to the other possible culprit, it was completely different. It *almost* has a pinkish tinge to it, which leads to my bluebelle
The Dogmother
It usually takes about a week form the start of laying behaviour for them to lay their first egg.

bokbok87
Well done! Enjoy your first eggs I remember that experience very well! Now I have the problem of too many eggs - I have got lovely neighbours who are quite willing to take a few boxes off my hands!
