Beantree Posted June 24, 2015 Share Posted June 24, 2015 We had a hybrid dark brown egg layer who I nicknamed 'honky', for just that reason Thumbcat. Since we've switched over to Pedigrees only we get a wide variety of noises. None honk and only a few 'bok bok'. My Pekin squeaks which is really cute and my Rhode Island Red makes typical chicken noises but is quite loud a lot of the time. I wonder if it's because she's the boss so has to let everyone know. The one who regularly meeped surprised us with an extraordinary series of unhappy deep bloff-blaaa-woooaah sounds in protest at the new rescue girls.
