Lily very poorly

Recommended Posts

My light Sussex hybrid looked very slow this afternoon. She hasn't laid today.

Went out this evening and she was by the door of the coop but had not gone in to bed. She is very slow moving and easy to pick up. I was out yesterday but she seemed to have a runny tummy. The coop floor was very messy under her space this morning. They need worming and I will order some worm food in the morning but I am not sure she will make the night.

So angry. I have been so busy lately and although they had essentials and are cleaned daily, they have not had my time much these last few weeks.

Seems ok Beantree. Been watching her from a distance and she has been pottering about this morning. Going to get some worming pellets and give that a go. Until they arrive going to add ACV and garlic to the water.

Considering I can't pick her up easily as she's a runner, her slowness is worrying.

She was fine yesterday but very listless today. Came out to FR and just stood in the middle of the lawn. I picked her up and we cuddled for about 20 mins. She then jumped down, did a tiny watery poo then stood for a few minutes. Then she started to walk back to the run, became all fluffed and dropped her wings. I thought she was going to prolapse but she actually laid a softy. All 3 ate it. She walked around a bit and has gone back to the run to lay down under the nest box.

Other 2 seem fine so a bit bewildered.

She did perk up after about 15 mins. Have bought some yoghurt and will mix some ground eggshells into it in the hope it will bring up her calcium intake. Now I know what the John Wayne stance is like as she did it before she laid the softy. Walked normally afterwards.
