Eglu Go Up - how do you cover your run?

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I'm a new chicken keeper and have an Eglu Go Up for my two girls. I'm currently moving it around weekly but am planning on making a fixed wood-chip run in the next couple of weeks. Lots of people advise that you make you cover your run to make it as weather proof as possible to minamise on mud and wet chickens. However, the Go Up's run has a narrower top than bottom and the cover that came with it is hopeless! Can I have some tips on how to create a more weather-proof cover? Does anyone else have a Go Up and what do they do? Many thanks!

I have the heavy duty cover for the Cube which fits quite well over the front part of the run. It's about 90 cm by 2,2 m so you only have a gap of about 20 cm on one bottom side and about 5 cm on the front of the run not covered.

But I only use it when it's very heavy rain or rain for a very long period. Because it is quite dark for the chickens.

I spotted the new clear plastic covers on the Omlet website, but haven't seen one for the 1m run of the cube. The 2m one would be far to big.

Maybe it is something in the making, but then it would be ideal I think for your Go Up.
